Cheap burgundy' is now, alas, a contradiction is terms... unless you look to the slightly less renowned areas to find value. The Cave de Lugny are one of the best in their class (they even bring apples for the teacher) and apply careful winemaking to produce a delicate and subtle wine which is not unlike Chablis in terms of body and texture but with a more mellow, softer finish
